How Muslim Fashion Is Bringing Modesty Back

How Muslim Fashion Is Bringing Modesty Back

Muslim fashion is an estimated $254 billion market but western brands have traditionally tried and failed to create designs that appeal to a wide range of Muslim women. New York based Islamic Fashion And Design Council (IFDC) founder Alia Khan believes it is because “they don’t understand that this audience is just as stylish and demanding of their fashion wardrobes as anybody else. Netflix’s Aggretsuko Offers Inside Portrait Of Feminine Rage

According to this strong review from writer Dami Lee, a new Asian anime show Aggretsuko offers a "refreshingly accurate portrayal of working women in Asia — especially their pent-up rage in response to the ways they’re expected to perform in society." This rage is a concept I first wrote about in the trend Fierce Femininity from last year, and one that I continue to see new examples of almost every week. 20th Century Fox To Launch "Choose Your Own Adventure" Film

For anyone who loves storytelling, this is great news - and the plan is to use different endings and try to create a version of the film that stays true to the iconic books many of us remember from our youth. They already do this very effectively on their Facebook page, however this will offer a new storytelling opportunity that might also lead other films to try launching multiple film versions or different endings as well. I couldn't help thinking that something like this could have made seeing Avengers: Infinity War more fun this past weekend as well.
