In marketing circles this week everyone was talking about the clever fast advertising ad from Aviator Gin featuring the "Peloton Wife" in a sequel to Peloton's controversial ad. The other popular story was about an art piece of a banana stuck to the wall with duct tape that sold for $120,000. Much of the attention for both seems fueled by two things: creative people wishing they had the idea first, and everyone wishing they had a lean enough decision making process to do either of these things so quickly.
In 2020, Podcasts Will Be Able To Earn Pulitzers
This was welcome news to many, as it offered a new sort of credibility to podcasting. Given the explosive rise of podcasting and the number of big name creators who now primarily create audio content in this format, it's great that awards like this will not only start to recognize this great work but also help the rest of us to discover the very best of the medium that we should be listening to.
Angry Bird's Ten Year Anniversary Is Today. Feel Old Yet?
Angry Birds has now officially been around for nearly as long as one of my kids and I have to admit it's still one of a handful of games that I haven't uninstalled on my phone and do still play from time to time. It's weirdly addicting, has randomly branded editions for movies like Rio and Star Wars and still offers that satisfying moment when you take out all those pigs in one shot.
